Datamyne Shrinks US Import Data Process Cycle from 15 to 7 Days
First provider to update bills of lading daily, now releases processed data weekly
MIAMI – February 14, 2012 –Datamyne has advanced its US import data processing schedule, accelerating the updates of its ranking information from every 15 days to every 7 days.
The accelerated delivery of US imports ranking data is the latest milestone in Datamyne’s multi-phase database re-engineering project.
Last September, Datamyne began providing online access to the data contained in the bills of lading that document import shipments one day after arrival – well ahead of any other source for US import data. Now the weekly updates will include all the information fields Datamyne adds to the original bill of lading data, such as country of origin, place of receipt, HS code, unified company names, container type and size, and NVOCC/VOCC identification.
The weekly releases will also update Datamyne’s US import rankings data, which totals and ranks incoming shipments by a choice of value or volume measures across a range of characteristics, including country of purchase, cargo (as indicated by harmonized system tariff codes), carrier, and point of entry.
“Our rankings data is now updated every Monday with shipment records received prior to the last Monday and processed through the ensuing week,” says Brendan R. McCahill, Datamyne’s CEO. “The sooner we get accurate market intelligence to our customers, the greater the advantage for them.”
